ALLERGIES

Understanding allergies is really complicated, there are thousands of triggers for allergies as you probably know. Sometimes it is impossible to find out exactly what is a person’s allergy trigger.

My wife has fought with allergies for years. We grew up and lived in the Central Eastern United States and were told by a Sinus Specialist years ago, the only way to escape the problem is to move to a dry warm climate. Years latter we moved to a dessert area out West and the condition did not improve.

While living in California my wife saw two different allergy specialists. The first did 50 skin test spots which came out inconclusive. He prescribed several allergy medicines, but nothing really seemed to help. About a year latter she saw another specialist that did 100 skin test spots, took 14 vials of blood and had her take an MRI of her sinus. All tests were inconclusive. Again, he prescribed several nasal sprays and allergy medicines.

Bottom line is that nothing they did helped her. I finally convinced her to try a couple of things which I believed would help her. She did and the results were great… as long as she kept it up she had relief from all of her allergies… The problem with any treatment (and I know this from my medical doctor friends), is that once someone starts feeling well, they often stop the treatment. It’s no different with those who are giving herbal medicine a try.

Here is what we did for her that worked.

First: We stopped almost all dairy products. She did eat some hard cheese and used some “Real” butter, no butter substitutes.

Second: We started her on Dr. Christopher’s Immucalm formula. One of the problems with which those with allergies are dealing is that their immune system is out of balance, or irritated. Dr. Christopher’s formula is designed to do what the name indicates, to Calm the Immune System. You can purchase it through Dr. Christopher’s Herb Shop (http://drchristophersherbshop.com/), (phone: 801-489-4500).

Signs of an overactive immune system include: allergic reactions to certain foods, plants, or animals, or auto-immune diseases. This simple combination of marshmallow root and astragalus has made life easier for those who suffer from allergies, hay fever, and asthma multiple sclerosis, juvenile onset diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, or any hyperactive immune response. This formula also stimulates the body’s ability to fight off infection. (Dr. David Christopher)

If you are having a lot of allergy problems I would recommend you take 2 capsules 2-3 times per day until you get things under control Once your system has calmed down you can take it once a day and see how that works.

Along with this I would advise you to either stop using dairy products completely or at the very least cut back to the bare minimum in use.

My Journey to better health and hope through herbs

I consider life a journey and sometimes I view it as part of my unexpected adventure on this road called life. You never know which way the road is going to twist and turn and you are always presented with choices as the road branches. I pray that your journey can be filled with hope no matter what problems or health issues challenge you.

As I begin, let me tell you a little about myself and my health. I am 70 years old and take no prescription medicine and work a full time 40 hour a week in a physically demanding job. Also I have had no health issues which I like to attribute to my use of herbs and supplements.

Now having said that I don’t take any prescriptions let me explain just a little further. The bottom line as they say; is that I don’t need any. One of the biggest problems for folks as they age is their blood pressure. My blood pressure normally is 125/72 with an average pulse of 60. Another issue is diabetes, for me my numbers are great as well as my cholesterol levels.

I don’t have arthritics either which is almost amazing for “mature” people in our society. Occasionally I’ll have an ache or pain and I try to adjust my herbs or minerals to deal with that.

Could that be just a “genetics thing”? I don’t know I am not a geneticist. I do know that before my father’s death he was crippled with two types of arthritics. He had both knees replaced, his toes straightened and his hands were so deformed he could hardly use them.

My 91 year old mother also struggles with arthritis, and both of them were or are on several prescription drugs for various issues. So genetics… I’m not learned in that area, but in this book, Health, Hope and Herbs I’ll share some of my thoughts on the subject.

I began my journey by overcoming cancer. I tell that story in my book How I beat Cancer, Health, hope and Herbs, understand it was not a short journey. In fact, it began almost 30 years ago and is still continuing.

Another Branch in the Road

Herbs for health

On this website I hope to share my journey to better health and help you better understand how to find Health and hope through the use Herbs. Of course this is not a short journey, nor is it one that ever ends, it is part of My Unexpected Adventure, but hopefully we will be able to make this journey with hope as we travel the road of life together.

In this website and book I am just releasing I hope to share My story, information on herbs and supplements and resources for you to learn more on your own.

So, I want to ask something of you. Will you help me stay on track, keeping my nose to the grindstone as they say, encourage me, ask questions and perhaps even offer to proof the finished product.

We are all in this adventure called life together, let’s do the best we can to help each other end well.
